Center is named for Sheriff Moore's father, Cecil A. Moore who was a long time Sheriff of Wilkes County. |

| The Wilkes County Sheriff's Office will conduct criminal history
(background) checks of persons. These checks can only be done in person by the individual requesting the
check. A fee of $10.00 is required and are only done during normal office hours, 9 AM to 5PM, Monday through
Friday (excluding holidays). |

| Blake Thompson has been the director for Wilkes County EMS since
August 1991. Under his administration and leadership the service has grown in staff members and in
equipment. |
|
| A staff of thirty employees (full and part-time) ensures the
citizens of Wilkes and Taliaferro Counties that they are ready and capable 24-hours per day, seven days
per week to meet their medical needs The full-time staff has nearly 150 years experience in the emergency
medical services field. Continuing education and training is always an on-going thing at Wilkes County
EMS as employees are improving their knowledge and their skills. |

| Every ambulance is staffed with a paramedic which means that
the patient is receiving the highest level of care provided in a pre-hospital setting. Advanced life
support is not an option in Wilkes County. We strive to give our patients the highest priority in care
and response, therefore we are a 100% advanced life support service. |
