WashingtonÕs SpringTour of Homes – April 4 and 5
The 2008 Washington-Wilkes SpringTour of Homes is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5.
ThisyearÕs tour will feature three lofts and a Dessert Soirˇe on The Square inDowntown Washington on the Candlelight Tour Friday night and five homes on theDay Tour on Saturday.
Hoursfor Candlelight tour are 6 – 9 pm. Saturday Day tour will be from 10:00am– 5:00pm.
Headquartersfor the Candlelight Tour is at the Chamber of Commerce office on the Square.Headquarters for the Day Tour will be the Washington-Wilkes Elementary Schoolon East Street off East Robert Toombs Avenue. Courtesy cars will providetransportation for visitors to the various homes and other sites on Saturdayonly.
Enjoy a seated luncheon on Saturday in the historic WomanÕs Club Housewhich will be exquisitely decorated for the occasion. Advance reservations arerequired because of limited seating by calling 706-678-2013 or emailing theChamber of Commerce at tourism@washingtonwilkes.org
Stroll around our historic square taking in the quaint shops andrestaurants on Friday from 6-9 p.m. Enjoy the magnificent stained glass in ourbeautiful churches and the Mary Willis Library just off The Square. Visit ourmuseums which offer free entry on Saturday 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Sunday, 1-5p.m., to those who have purchased a tour ticket.
