Each Saturday in February there will be food, fun, storytelling of days gone by, singing and fellowshipping. You can come home again and experience the richness of our heritage.
BATTLE OF KETTLE CREEK ANNIVERSARY 2nd Weekend in February
On the second weekend of February each year, patriotic and historical organizations from throughout the nation join with descendants of participants and the public, to celebrate the anniversary of the Revolutionary War Battle of Kettle Creek. "We have been to tons of historical sites, lots of events and reenactments. SPRING TOUR OF HOMES April 4-5, 2008

MULE DAY SOUTHERN HERITAGE FESTIVAL 2nd Saturday in Oct
Held the second Saturday in October. A celebration of plantation life in the Old South with mule contests, primitive demonstrations, food, an arts & crafts show, and fun for the whole family. Held at Callaway Plantation. Sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.

WASHINGTON-WILKES ARTFEST
A Premier Art Show featuring original work by invited artists with "Washington Connections". Included are paintings, pottery, sculpture, jewelry, and fine-arts photography by regionally, nationally, and internationally known artists. Browse through exhibits in the heart of Washington on the Square green and some "off the beaten path". Bring a picnic lunch or enjoy local restaurants.
WASHINGTON-WILKES FESTIVAL OF MUSIC & ART April
In celebration of the Tour de Georgia coming to Washington the WWAF proudly sponsors a street dance featuring the award winning band "Playback". We are bringing Playback to the Square on April 22 beginning at 8o'clock. The street dance is free and open to the public in honor of Washington's participation in the Tour de Georgia. The Washington Wilkes Arts Foundation announces a "month of music" rather than our usual weekend. On April 11 Eidolon will be performing at the Bolton Lunceford Theater, contemporary instrumental music par excellence....offering an evening of warm emotional melodies. Tickets are $12 and may be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce or Fievet Pharmacy. Then on April 22 we bring Playback for a festive street dance. Playback was voted best R & B band in Augusta by readers of Augusta magazine for 2007. On April 26th a 35 member chorus performs for Washington-Wilkes before they begin their European Tour.

THE TOOMBS HOUSE LIVING HISTORY PROGRAMS 1st Sat in April; 2nd Sat in Dec
The Toombs House presents two living history programs yearly.
1) On the first Saturday in April the living history program focuses on an actual "spring event" in Toombs life. Research and resources are documented.
2) On the second Saturday in December the Toombs House living history program focuses on an actual Christmas event in Toombs life found in biographies, letters, and other written information.
