    Kennel Attendant

    This is a part time position that requires availability for weekends and holidays. With potential for other shifts. 

    Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
    ● Feeding and medicating dogs and cats; must be able to follow detailed instructions
    ● Keeping rooms/kennels/litterboxes clean and sanitized ● Walking and picking up after the dogs, in all weather conditions
    ● Occasional bathing of dogs
    ● Reporting any unusual behaviors or medical problems immediately
    ● General upkeep/cleaning of facility, mopping, sweeping, laundry, dishes etc. Qualifications:
    ● High school diploma and a minimum of three (3) months of experience caring for companion animals in
    ● a veterinary practice, animal shelter, grooming salon, training facility, or other related business.
    ● Physically able to lift 50 pounds without strain or assistance
    ● Be familiar and comfortable with cats and dogs of ALL sizes and breed
    ● Have reliable transportation
    ● Be dependable and on time
    ● Be a trustworthy, motivated team player

    Uniform requirements:
    ● Staff is required to wear appropriate clothing to work, which includes:
    ○ Close-toed shoes ○ No revealing shirts ○ No clothing with offensive/vulgar images or phrases ○ Long pants
    ● Scrubs are preferred by most employees, but that is up to your discretion.
    Reminder: You will be getting fecal/urine/blood/dirt/cleaning chemicals on clothes–DO NOT wear anything you don’t want to get dirty.

    Cell phones: Cell phones are permitted to be used sparsely during work hours. That being said, do not use your phone in front of potential adopters. They must be used during break or lunch.

    Shelter hours: The shelter is open between the hours of 9am-2pm on Tuesday-Friday, and 9am-12pm on Saturdays.
    ● Staff works 7 days/365 days a year.
    ● Staff hours are 8:30-2pm Tuesday-Friday and 8:30-12p.m on Saturday-Monday.
    ● Holiday hours vary, but are only “clean and leave”
