    CDL DRIVER JOB DESCRIPTION
    Open-Deck (Flatbed) Position Licensed Class A

    CDL driver main duties are to transport cargo from company warehouse to clients or site locations both near and far. All duties must be performed within the confines of the law.  The job varies in terms of working hours night spent on the road, and quality of equipment operated.
    CDL driver should pay close attention to the types and quantities of stock being delivered to avoid company losses. CDL driver will be able to drive in all conditions, regardless of the time of day.  CDL driver will be responsible for the safe delivery and pick up of product and inventory check.
    CDL Driver Responsibilities:

    • Transport goods to job sites or the consigned
    • Secure freight according to DOT regulations
    • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
    • Coordinate deliveries with the consignee
    • Navigate highways and streets using legal truck routes
    • Occasional tarping of loads as required and when necessary; ensure loads are properly secured to prevent damage of company assets.
    • Maintain driving logs and Bill of Lading paperwork.
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
    • Maintain DOT medical card, provide a periodic MVR, and other requirements to maintain your license
    • Occasionally spend time over the road, 2 to 4 weeks.
     
    CDL Driver Requirements:
    • Relevant – Class A CDL with 2 years commercial driving experience.
    • 25 years of age.
    • MVR- NO major violations. No more than 2 minor violations in past 3 years.  No more than 1 at fault accident.
    • Experience with flatbed or open-deck trailers.
    • Comfortable using GPS equipment.
    • Able to comply with Hours of Service rules and be fit for duty.
    • Compliance with all road and transport rules.
    • Ability to drive safely, know when conditions will not allow for safe operation.
    • Exceptional stamina, ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Home most nights, occasionally spend around 2 weeks out when assisting with projects.
    • Time management skills.
    • Refuel truck and ensure daily vehicle inspections are complete and recorded.
