Description
You are invited to the 2019 Membership Meeting of the Friends of the Mary Willis Library. This meeting is open to the public and light refreshments will be served.
We have invited Charlie Hayslett an award-winning journalist, speechwriter, and public relations counselor, to host our program about the cost and consequences of the decline of rural Georgia. The working title of his book is “Trouble in God’s Country,” and he maintains a blog about the subject at ww.troubleingodscountry.com.
Mr. Hayslett was the founder and CEO of Hayslett Group LLC, an Atlanta-based communications firm established in 1994. Prior to entering public relations, Charlie worked for more than a decade as a newspaper journalist, covering government and politics for The Atlanta Journal in Atlanta and Washington, D.C. His newspaper and public relations career spans more than 40 years.
He holds an ABJ from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia. He is a member of the Grady College’s Board of Trust and in 2008 was named to the inaugural class of The Grady Fellowship. He is also a former member of the Board of Directors of Georgians for a Healthy Future.
