Organized in 1790, the congregation has deep roots in Georgia Presbyterian history, with the present sanctuary completed in 1825. The church is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and remains a beautiful example of early church architecture in Washington-Wilkes.
The sanctuary has remained remarkably well preserved, offering visitors a quiet glimpse into the faith, craftsmanship, and history that shaped the community. One of the church’s most notable features is its historic Hook & Hastings organ, installed in 1888. This treasured instrument continues to reflect the church’s long-standing tradition of worship and music.
