Wilkes County Solid Waste Transfer Station (former landfill)

Dumpster site service is free (for Wilkes County Residents - ID required) and is only for household garbage and not large items.  Items cannot be left at dumpster sites on the ground.  Anyone caught throwing trash or leaving furniture, appliances, mattresses, or construction debris at those sites are subject to a fine of up to $1000.00.  All of these larger items must be brought to the Transfer Station.

Accepted materials include MATTRESSES, BOX SPRINGS, FURNITURE, TRASH, LUMBER, METAL, OLD APPLIANCES, ETC.

Not accepted: ROCKS, BRICKS, CONCRETE, DIRT, LEAVES, LIMBS, STUMPS, TREES, GRASS CUTTINGS TIRES, BATTERIES AND LIQUIDS

30-yard roll-off bins are rented out to businesses and county citizens. Contact the transfer station for details. 

Hours: Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM - Noon
