It’s a Spirited time of year in Washington GA!

Summer has faded, the air is crisper, and the leaves are starting to show their fall colors…the perfect time to treat yourself to a road trip and maybe even a hauntingly fun ghost tour of historic Washington GA.

Washington is one of the oldest—and prettiest—small towns in Georgia, located in Wilkes County between Athens and Augusta, and not far from Clarks Hill Lake and the Savannah River.  As one of Georgia’s first established counties, Wilkes County has seen of a lot of history, including a significant Revolutionary War battle and the dissolution of the Confederacy during the American Civil War.

Undoubtedly, there must be more than a few lingering souls around yearning to tell their stories, and October is a great time to hear tales of days gone by in Washington-Wilkes.
