Washington - Wilkes Historical Foundation is pleased to announce the first in a series of monthly ground-breaking haunted history investigations inside the Washington Historical Museum beginning March 14th.  Led by professional haunted history researcher, Savannah ghost tour leader, and psychic-intuitive, Chase Anderson.
Five years ago, after a lifetime of paranormal research and investigations in the United States, Europe, and India, Anderson formulated a unique format for small group investigations in historic house museums like Washington Historical Museum, using history, situational awareness, and select museum pieces as “trigger objects” to unlock reported ghostly activity in the museum.
“History and other non-digital methods can be keys to unlock what haunts a place,” said Anderson.  “We do use simple EMF meters which are available to rent before the investigation begins, phone camera photography (without flash) is allowed, and one thermal app you can download but those are the only digital devices we allow in our investigations, “said Anderson.  We limit digital due to our unique focus on “unplugged” methods of detection like situational and intuition awareness,” and other techniques which Anderson teaches guests to use and cultivate. Anderson feels that less dependence on digital devices and what he calls “chatter” produces a quieter atmosphere to produce more effective results.  Guests are asked to keep conversations to a bare minimum and at a whisper level in order to get the best results.
“The more you learn about the museum collection, and the historical context that collection exists in – the house itself, the land it sits on, the previous residents, the more ghostly presence in the place you understand and experience.
    A Museum Full of Ghosts
“We’ve had many haunting moments at the museum.  One time the 1864 fashion doll lifted itself out of the chair and rested on the floor during a group tour. The piano plays when no one is in the room, conversations occur in the dining room when no one is there. Guest experiences range from seeing a gentleman wearing a top hat in the Kettle Creek room (when they looked again, he was gone).”
“Whether or not guests experience or capture this type of evidence on March 14th is never a sure thing, said Anderson but one thing is for certain – Washington Historical Museum is one haunted place and guests will feel it right away.”
Museum Hours:  Tuesday – Saturday 10-5
