Join us for Pupalooza, Washington’s first ever pet celebration for all members of the family!

On Saturday May 2, 2026 from 12 pm to 3 pm, this dog festival highlights adoptions at the Washington Wilkes Animal Shelter. Bring your leashed non aggressive pup pals for a tail Swagging good time!

Activities at Washington Wilkes Parks & Rec:

Obedience demonstrations, pet contests, Pop Up Pet Store, Wilkes County Sheriff Office K9 meet & greet, and meet WWAS adoptable pets throughout the day from 12 pm - 3 pm.

2026 Tentative Schedule of events, all times approximate and subject to change:

12 pm Expo Opens, with food court, Pop Up Pet Store, WCSO K9 Unit Meet & Greet, free photo booth sponsored by F&M Bank & KTill Collections, free bounce houses and face painting sponsored by CleanSpark, pet information booth with Wilkes County Veterinary Services, raffles and pet care info with Callaway Kennels and more!

Free event, optional donation to Washington Wilkes Animal Shelter supply drive

12 pm Personal Protection Dog demonstration, sponsored by War & Peace K9 Training

12:30 pm Dog Obedience competition $3 per entry donation to WWAS. Show us your dogs best trick for a chance at a $25 Tractor Supply gift card or other fabulous prize

1 PM: Costume Contest $3 per entry donation to WWAS. Show off your dogs favorite fashion for a chance at a $25 Tractor Supply Gift Card or other fabulous prize

1:30 pm Griggs Ficklen Little Dog Derby $3 per entry donation to WWAS. Enter your fast small dog 20 lbs and under for a chance at a $25 Tractor Supply gift card or other fabulous prize

3 pm: Event Ends, Expo Closes

Dog Contests Entry: $3 each that goes to the fundraiser for the WW Animal Shelter. Cash and checks accepted. Top 3 winners in each category take home prizes
